Two Syntactic Positions for Determiners in Hebrew

Let us begin by noting that many determiners in Hebrew, and numerals in particular, have two forms which seem to be derived from each other by the same rule that derives heads of construct-state (CS) nominals ( ̇ÂÎÈÓÒ) from the basic form of the noun; I will refer to these two forms as the “basic” and “derived” forms. This is illustrated for determiners (numerals in this case) and for nouns in the following table:
